Why was the Zachary Johnson Kids with Cancer Fund Formed?
At only 10 months old, Zachary Johnson was diagnosed with AML Leukemia. While Zachary was undergoing treatment for cancer, his family and friends saw a need to help other families who may experience some of the same challenges of daily life as the Johnson's. Gratefully, Zach's cancer has been in remission for several years.
The Zachary Johnson Kids with Cancer Fund was established as an endowment fund generating interest income specifically for the purpose of disbursement to qualified individuals requesting assistance and distributed by the fund's Board of Directors. Application may be made through Riverwood Health Care Center, Community Hospital foundation in Aitkin, MN 56431

Empty toner and inkjet cartridges may be brought to either of The Office Shop locations, Aitkin or Brainerd, for recycling. The money received from this recycling program is donated to the Zachary Johnson Kids with Cancer Fund. This fund has been set up to help any person under 18 years of age in Aitkin County that has been diagnosed with a cancer-related illness.
Some of the money from recycling is donated to the fund through
the “The Player of the Game” recognition awarded by The Office Shop. This program promotes cancer awareness and the importance of community service in high school students. The "Player of the Game" is announced at home events for various sports at the Aitkin High School. The player receives an award, and $25.00 is donated by The Office Shop in their name to the Zachary Johnson Kids with Cancer Fund. Individual monetary contributions to the fund have been received and are welcomed.
